The iPhone 18 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro are the latest examples of a familiar story: Apple and Google refining, rather than reinventing, mature flagship smartphones. Both are expensive, powerful phones with top-notch screens, three rear cameras and (like it or not) an ever-growing list of AI features. They both come in two sizes and have similar price tags.

There are still plenty of subtle differences. But neither phone likely gives you a compelling reason to switch ecosystems. If you're happy with how your iPhone plays nicely with your MacBook, iPad, Apple Watch and AirPods, there's no reason to jump ship to Android. Ditto for the Pixel if you're invested in Google's devices and services.

While the ecosystem question is easy, there's still plenty to learn from the details. Let's line them...
