AI Can Draw You a Storyboard in Thirty Seconds. It Still Can't Tell You What Belongs In It.
A storyboard for AI video generation is not a set of pretty panels. It is the last document where a human decides what a scene means, before a stateless model starts averaging.
The first time I let an AI storyboard tool plan a scene for Lost Garden, my dark-fantasy anime series, I gave it one paragraph of description and watched it hand back eight clean, consistent panels in under a minute. Same character, same lighting, same room, shot to shot. It looked like pre-production had just gotten free.
Then I tried to generate the actual shots from those panels, and the scene fell apart. Not because the panels were ugly.
