Why more than three-quarters of firms have taken a revenue hit from climate change this year

As Planet Earth struggles to recover from its hottest ever Summer, many companies seem to be finally realizing the stark impact the climate crisis could, and already is, having on their business.

The latest A World in Balance report from Capgemini highlights this growing realization.Seventy-seven percent of organizations have felt the impact of climate change on revenue this year, a huge leap from just 18% last year. The biggest consequence of the climate crisis is currently supply chain disruptions, reported by 87% of companies, while 75% have suffered IT disruptions.

As more companies suffer the effects of extreme weather and climate-related problems, this is leading to more awareness of the need to act in the boardroom. According to the report findings, 68% of executives say their organization actively prioritizes climate adaptation, a 12% increase on 2025.
