We trust leaders who stand by their convictions. We value engineers whose systems behave predictably. We praise organizations that execute a clear strategy year after year. Consistency feels like confidence, and confidence is often mistaken for intelligence.
Until the world changes.
That's the moment when consistency and intelligence begin to go off in different direction. That’s the moment things diverge.
Continuing to produce the same conclusion after the conditions have changed isn't evidence of strength. It's evidence that the reasoning behind the conclusion has stopped evolving. A fly trapped in a room doesn't lack determination or energy.
