Using AI tools without browser security literacy is a vulnerability companies can't ignore
Global AI spending is set to hit $2.59 trillion in 2026, a 47% jump from last year, and a growing share of that is going into teaching employees how to use AI well. Enterprises now spend an average of $1,400 per employee on AI up-skilling, and demand for AI literacy courses on corporate learning platforms grew 320% in a single year.
None of that spending touches the place where the actual damage is happening - the browser. 67% of employees now access AI services on corporate devices through personal, unmanaged accounts, according to the 2026 Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report, which means none of that activity ever crosses a corporate Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policy or a security log. The same report found that more than 15% of users at the average company have unauthorized AI browser extensions installed.
