Sony’s Bravia Theater Bar 7 leaves me wanting more, but not in a good way. The support for HDMI passthrough as well as both DTS:X and Dolby Atmos are great, but the lack of bass depth and immersive positioning of sounds undermine it. Dialogue is good, but a lack of music connectivity and EQ options is again just too limiting.

Pros

  • +Easy setup
  • +HDMI input
  • +Dolby Atmos and DTS:X
  • +Expandable with optional subs and surround speakers

Cons

  • -No optical or analog inputs
  • -Very few sound settings
  • -Limited streaming options
  • -Poor bass performance
