M&S ends the Hunt for a new Chief Digital and Technology Officer
After a turbulent 12 months when its technology - or rather the outage that felled the UK retailer online for months - came to the fore, Marks & Spencer (M&S) has signed up John Hunt as its new Chief Digital and Technology Officer.
Hunt takes over from current Operations Director Sacha Berendji, who will be staying on with the firm until April next year to ease the transition of responsibilities. Berendji will retain charge of M&S ongoing property and store refurbishment program.
Hunt has been recruited from a 30-year stint at Woolworths Australia, where he latterly was CIO and Managing Director of Group Enablement for the past nine years. He says of his new role:
I’m really looking forward to joining M&S and bringing my passion for both retail and technology to what is an incredibly exciting transformation....
