Windows Finally Gets a ChatGPT App Months After macOS


The Windows app does not yet support voice commands, and some integrations with OpenAI's GPT Store are currently unavailable.

OpenAI has officially launched a preview version of its standalone ChatGPT app for Windows 10 and 11, several months after the initial release of the Mac version in May. The Windows app is available exclusively to paid subscribers, including ChatGPT Plus, Team, Enterprise, and Edu users.

The new Windows app has many features similar to its Mac counterpart. Users can upload files and photos, generate AI-created summaries for documents, and access the DALL-E 3 AI image maker. The app also supports OpenAI's LLM, the OpenAI o1-preview. This lets users minimize the app's window and use it alongside other Windows applications.
