User Can Now Use Gemini Without Signing In
extremetech.comGoogle has changed how users can access its Gemini. Today, people can use Gemini's chat interface without signing in with a Google Account. This update also lets users use Gemini in Incognito Mode or other private browsing settings—there is no need to sign up or sign in.
The new version for signed-out users has direct access to the chat, where Google offers some example prompts like "Save me time" and "Write an essay on the history of chess." Instead of a personalized greeting, users see "Meet Gemini, your personal AI assistant." This is basically the Google Search version of Gemini.
Unsigned users can see the model picker, but only Gemini 2.0 Flash is available without signing in. To use newer Gemini models (2.0 Flash Thinking, Deep Research, Personalization), upload files, or access chat history, users still need to sign in, as reported by 9to5Google.
