AI might accelerate digital transformation, solve the climate crisis and lead to an era of peace and prosperity. Except it may also divide, unemploy, pilfer, sicken, fine and maybe even extinct us, or at least our humanity. Some of the top policy concerns have been the erosion of trusted media, the future of jobs, mental health impacts, data scraping, and healthcare.

AI vendors are even distracting us with the thought that AI might just kill us all like in the Terminator, so we should just batten down the open source AI hatches to protect civilization from rogue AI, not to mention from the costs and revenue losses of these more practical concerns.
