Nvidia Might Re-Launch RTX 4090 With Up to 96GB Of VRAM


Nvidia may be bringing back one of its most iconic graphics cards of recent generations: the RTX 4090. Not to fix the poor availability of its newer RTX 50-series GPUs, though, but to offer AI developers an alternative option. The new version of the 4090 will reportedly enter mass production soon, with the suggestion that it will come with either 48GB or up to 96GB of VRAM.

Rumors of a re-released RTX 4090 have been swirling for a while now, but we now have confirmation of at least some custom versions of this card in existence. The user behind the leak, @eisneim on Twitter/X (via WCCFTech), suggested that they had traded in their 4090 with the standard 24GB of VRAM for an alternative 48GB version. They also claimed to have seen 96GB variants being tested, with the expectation that they too would go on sale soon.
