Nintendo Finally Unveils the Long-Awaited Switch 2

As Monday's rumor predicted, Nintendo has finally provided the public with a first look at the Nintendo Switch 2. Early Tuesday, the Japanese gaming giant published a two-minute video offering a detailed view of the Switch 2's exterior, complete with a larger screen, upsized Joy-Cons, and a fancier kickstand.

The video below does a fantastic job of illustrating the differences between the original Switch and its successor. Not only does the screen grow longer and taller in Nintendo's animation, but the horizontal bezels thin out, providing more room for the actual display. (This could mean last year's 8-inch LCD rumor is accurate.) The console's flimsy kickstand—so far improved only through the Switch OLED, which features a full-length kickstand panel—has been swapped for a U-shaped variable stand that allows the display to sit anywhere between upright and nearly flush with the table.
