Microsoft's Quick Machine Recovery Tool Will Automate Fixes for Windows 11 Boot Issues


Microsoft has announced a new tool called Quick Machine Recovery (QMR) for Windows 11 to reduce downtime caused by critical issues. The tool is currently being tested with Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel, as reported by BetaNews. QMR is meant to detect, diagnose, and fix boot-related problems automatically, making troubleshooting easier for users and IT administrators.

When a device faces a critical failure that prevents it from starting properly, it automatically enters the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE). From there, it connects to a network using Ethernet or WPA-enabled Wi-Fi to send diagnostic data to Microsoft.

The company analyzes crash data from affected devices to identify patterns and develop targeted fixes. These fixes are then sent out via Windows Update, which then helps users recover their devices without needing manual intervention.

QMR is enabled by default for Windows 11 Home users but can be customized or turned off by IT ...
