Death Stranding 2 release date revealed alongside epic 10-minute pre-order trailer

What just happened? Kojima Productions has published a pre-order trailer for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2019 action game starring Norman Reedus. Studio founder Hideo Kojima shared the new trailer at the South by Southwest festival over the weekend.

As the trailer reveals, the events in the game take place 11 months after the creation of the United Cities of America. The sequel sees Reedus reprise his role as Sam Porter Bridges, who is joined by other big names including Elle Fanning, Léa Seydoux, and Jonathan Roumie.

The Internet is abuzz about a character near the end of the trailer that's said to look a lot like Snake from Metal Gear Solid. Kojima himself also seemed to agree with this in a 2020 Instagram post. What are your thoughts?
