Australia Bans Public Agencies From Using Kaspersky Software

The Australian Department of Home Affairs became the latest government to ban the use of Kaspersky Labs products in public offices citing an "unacceptable security risk" to government networks and data. All government offices must uninstall all Kaspersky products and report the completion of the task to the agency.

"After considering threat and risk analysis, I have determined that the use of Kaspersky Lab products and web services by Australian government entities poses an unacceptable security risk to Australian Government, networks and data, arising from threats of foreign interference, espionage and sabotage," Home Affairs Secretary Stephanie Foster said in issuing the notice on Friday.
