AMD: RDNA 4 Coming in Early 2025 With Improved Ray Tracing

During its third-quarter earnings call with investors on Tuesday, AMD delivered an upbeat message and promised some big hardware launches are just over the horizon. CEO Lisa Su stated that AMD's next-generation RDNA 4 GPUs are coming soon and will arrive in "early 2025," hinting at a reveal during the CES trade show in January. The company is also expected to launch an array of new mobile and desktop CPUs very soon as well.

Dr. Su noted during the earnings call that it's had a rough time in the gaming business lately with year-over-year and quarter-to-quarter losses. However, she implied it's not a huge deal as AMD is now preparing to transition to RDNA 4. On that front, she said, "In addition to a strong increase in gaming performance, RDNA 4 delivers significantly higher ray tracing performance and adds new AI capabilities."
