Something for the weekend - AI ABBA-style. Don't just say thank you for the music, pay for it, says Björn Ulvaeus
Every night in London Björn Ulvaeus and his three band members perform their biggest hits from ABBA’s back catalog. Or rather an AI-created version of the Swedish super-group does.
The ‘ABBAtars’ on stage at ABBA Voyage are created through a powerful combination of motion-stop technology and Machine Learning and, as anyone who’s seen the show will know, ABBA lives on, 40 years on from their heyday and every bit as fresh.
So when Ulvaeus came to this week’s AI for Good Summit in Geneva he didn’t come to criticise AI per se, but to ask a simple, but powerful question:
Good for whom?
It was appropriate he should pose the question to the AI good and the great in Geneva, he suggested:
