Send It a Text, and This DoorDash AI Agent Will Order Food For You
DoorDash has beta-launched an AI agent that lets customers order via text instead of the DoorDash app. You know, for when requesting on-demand food delivery feels like too much effort.
DoorDash says the system extends Ask DoorDash, its current in-app assistant, to iMessage chats. A customer can send the agent requests like "Order my usual protein bowl to the office," ask for recommendations, or build a group order. The agent reportedly remembers dietary preferences or alterations (like if you usually ask for extra sauce) and what you enjoy ordering on Friday nights versus mid-week. DoorDash also says it may proactively ask whether a customer wants a usual order based on daily habits, per Gizmodo.
