SAP Connect 2026 - SAP leadership responds to hot AI issues, and explains why "generic models" fall short
SAP Sapphire is the splashiest SAP show - and few Sapphires were splashier than Orlando 2026. This year, SAP staked its claim to the so-called "autonomous enterprise" - with much exuberance.
But here at the line-of-business event known as SAP Connect, things got real.
The SAP Connect keynote was vastly superior to Sapphire's (hear our live review if you want). It was mercifully concise, showcasing a confident SAP that didn't need long-winded explanations of why they aren't a throwback system of record anymore.
The onstage customers radiated industry authority, and shared their successes on their SAP's AI pursuits to date.
Though the news perhaps paled against Sapphire, SAP Connect's typically elaborate news guide underscores that SAP's major Joule-related announcements - including Joule Work - are now generally available to customers. Then there was SAP's intent to acquire TechWolf, which opens up new angles in SAP's context-graph-for-work ambitions.
