A lot can change in a year. When we sat down with Simon de Montfort Walker, Oracle’s EVP Industry Applications, at AI World in 2025, the focus then was on how the frontier models could only take industry apps 60% of the way there. And that getting to the remaining 40% was a technical question that Oracle had a number of answers for.
However, sitting down with de Montfort Walker at the event this year, the focus had shifted somewhat. There was of course talk of Oracle’s latest agentic products, most notably Fusion Claw and the AI Agent Studio for Industry Applications, but the real insight into what can push enterprises towards fully autonomous agentic processes was much more on the organizational change required.
