Numeral raises $100m Series C for AI sales tax compliance
Sales tax has become a much bigger operational challenge as companies grow across markets, systems and business models.
Sam Ross, co-founder and chief executive of Numeral, said that as the San Francisco company announced a $100m Series C on Wednesday.
Insight Partners led the round. Salesforce Ventures, Geodesic, Benchmark, Mayfield, FCVC, Y Combinator and Uncork also took part.
Numeral has now raised $157m in total. Its previous round was a $35m Series B in September 2025. Ross founded the company in 2023 with Matt DuVall, its chief technology officer.
What Numeral does
Numeral sells software that handles sales tax compliance from start to finish. That covers tracking where a company owes tax, registering, calculating rates, filing, paying and managing exemption certificates.
It also supports VAT and GST compliance in more than 90 countries, and connects to more than 40 billing, financial and enterprise resource planning systems.
