Navi Opens Institutional Funding Chapter With $100 Million Prosus Investment
Navi Limited has announced a $100 million investment from Prosus, marking the fintech company's first institutional capital raise and bringing a major global technology investor into its shareholder base.
The proposed investment is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, including clearance from the Competition Commission of India (CCI). Navi said the investment will support its long-term ambition of building a technology-driven financial services institution in India.
The investment also builds on a relationship between Navi founder Sachin Bansal and Prosus' parent group Naspers that has spanned more than a decade.
Prosus Backs Navi's Technology-Led Model
Navi operates across financial services, and the investment reflects Prosus' focus on technology platforms with large user bases and multiple business lines. Ashutosh Sharma, Head of Prosus India Investments and M&A, said Navi's performance over the past year had strengthened the investor's confidence in the company.
