Keeping up with the Joneses - why a speed check when it comes to agentic adoption may favor the tortoise rather than the hare

No-one wants to feel left out or behind, not least when there’s a massive hype cycle telling you how far ahead your peers are going to be if you don’t get your act together fast! Again, no-one wants to play catch-up in the fickle world of fashionable enterprise IT adoption, do they?

And, of course, we do all sneakily suspect that others around us are further ahead and more sophisticated in their approach, don’t we, even if the evidence supports quite the opposite conclusion?

But maybe the need for speed is illusory. It isn’t always the hare that wins the race, as many a tortoise will testify since time immemorial. What if being slower to market rather than uber-fast is actually not a bad thing at all, allowing you to prepare properly and learn from the mistakes of those who charged in regardless?
