Ingredient Tech Startup Arboreal Raises ₹230 Crore to Expand Next-Gen Food Innovation
Arboreal Bioinnovations, an India-based specialty food and nutraceutical ingredient technology company, has raised ₹230 crore in a Series A funding round co-led by Omnivore and EAAA Alternatives, with participation from existing investor Rainmatter by Zerodha.
The company said the funding is among the largest Series A investments in India's specialty food ingredients sector and will be used to expand manufacturing capacity, strengthen research and development (R&D) capabilities, and accelerate the commercialisation of its next generation of functional ingredients.
Scaling Ingredient Technology
Arboreal develops ingredient technologies for food, beverage and nutraceutical companies, focusing on solutions tailored to the nutritional, functional and commercial requirements of the Indian market.
Its technology platform combines ingredient engineering, process R&D, formulation science and precision manufacturing to develop specialty ingredients. The company said it has commercialised proprietary products across next-generation proteins, cocoa-based ingredients, natural zero-calorie sweeteners and functional fibres, while additional ingredient platforms remain under development.
