I Probably Pay Less for Streaming Than You Do. Here’s Why
Subscription fatigue is real, especially for streaming, and those monthly payments now cost more than ever.
Spotify raised prices at the beginning of 2026, and Netflix and YouTube Premium did the same in the spring. Just last month, Apple TV implemented a price hike, too.
If you’re like me, you might be wondering: Exactly how much am I paying for all my subscription services? There’s a good chance that it’s more than you expect.
Let’s do some quick math.
Say I’m subscribed to the cheapest Netflix plan, which includes ads. That’s $9 a month. If I want to rewatch all the MCU movies in preparation for Avengers: Doomsday, I’ll have to pay at least $12 a month for Disney Plus with Hulu.
And if I want to watch Silo(I’ve heard good things) on Apple TV, that’ll set me back $15 a month. That means I’m paying...
