Game Over For Unlimited Xbox Cloud Play As Microsoft Imposes Caps
Say a sad goodbye to unlimited Xbox cloud play, folks, because Microsoft will soon be enforcing strict monthly playtime caps for Xbox Game Pass subscribers while simultaneously opening up cloud access to non-subscribers.
Beginning this November, Microsoft will end its unlimited streaming policy, shifting to a tier-based allowance system that caps playtime across subscription levels. Game Pass Ultimate members will be allotted 15 hours of cloud gaming per month, while Game Pass Premium and Game Pass Essential subscribers will receive 10 hours and 5 hours, respectively. Once users exhaust their monthly allotment, they will be required to purchase additional cloud playtime through the Xbox Store to keep streaming. Yes, 15 hours—that's basically chicken scrap.
