From Pac-Man to Audio Visualizers: This Pixel Clock Does It All
There are about a million ways to build a digital clock, but RGB LED matrix panels are probably the most fun. Their colorful pixels are perfect for displaying the time, and they leave plenty of room for creative animations. Rafał Stolarek started down that path with a relatively simple idea for a pixel clock, but then things got a little out of hand. His AnimatedPixelClock now has a dozen clock faces, animated retro video game characters, weather, PC monitoring, custom GIFs, an audio visualizer, and a whole lot more.
Stolarek had previously developed a project called SmallOLED-PCMonitor, which uses a tiny OLED screen to display information from a computer. AnimatedPixelClock continues that idea on a much larger scale. The display consists of two 64×64 P2.5 HUB75E RGB LED matrix panels chained together to form a single 128×64-pixel canvas.
