Espressif Launches the ESP32-C61-MINI Module Family for Budget-Conscious Wi-Fi 6, BLE, Matter Work
Espressif is finally making MINI-family modules based around its ESP32-C61 chip, designed as a cost-reduced alternative to the ESP32-C6, available to buy in small quantities — nearly three years after it originally announced the part.
"ESP32-C61 [is] a next-generation Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth 5 (LE) [Bluetooth Low Energy] System-on-Chip (SoC)," Espressif said of what it described in January 2024 as the part's "upcoming release" to general availability. "Following the success of ESP32-C2 and ESP32-C3, this new SoC marks Espressif's response to a significant demand for Wi-Fi 6 technology, offering optimized peripherals, improved connectivity, and increased memory options."
