Compromised Passwords? Apple Intelligence Will Automatically Change Those for You

In a world full of useless AI, Apple is introducing a feature to iOS 27 that could actually save iPhone users' hides. Powered by Apple Intelligence, the Passwords app can automatically change passwords that may have been leaked or compromised. Apple says this tool will erase the confusing legwork of tracking down leaked or stolen passwords and their associated accounts, making users' web experiences more secure.

Once iOS 27 rolls out, the Passwords app will flag weak, reused, or exposed passwords, then let Apple Intelligence handle the reset process on supported websites.

When users approve the action, the app uses Safari to log in to the affected account, navigate to the account's password settings, generate a new strong password, and save it to the Passwords app for future autofill. Users can watch this process progress via an on‑screen indicator.
