Apple Transforms iPhone Camera Into an AR Search Tool with Native Siri Visual Intelligence in iOS 27

Apple has taken a significant step toward embedding contextual artificial intelligence directly into its daily user experience with the rollout of the second developer beta of iOS 27. The latest software update introduces a dedicated “Siri Mode” directly inside the native iPhone Camera application, placing visual search capabilities into the platform’s most frequently utilized interface.

Visual Intelligence Moves Beyond Dedicated Hardware

The upgraded voice assistant framework was initially unveiled earlier this month at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2026), showcasing advanced natural conversation modules and real-time environment processing. While early iterations of Apple’s visual intelligence were tied exclusively to external hardware components like the Camera Control button, the second beta integrates these features into the primary software viewport.

Siri Mode now stands alongside classic shooting options like Photo, Video, and Portrait, turning the viewfinder from a standard image-capture tool into an interactive data layer.
