Centuries-Old Artistry Joins Modern Tech to Honor the Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort
In 2021, the Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix returned to Circuit Zandvoort and Royal Delft was there to bring their famous Delft Blue artistry to the event. Max Verstappen’s helmet for the Dutch GP this season has a Delft Blue motif that is quite striking, and the trophies to be presented have the Delft Blue treatment. Anouk Wipprecht helped to bring those trophies to life and even created an on-theme dress to wear during the race.
Royal Delft is a pottery maker founded in 1653 in Delft, which is just a few kilometers southeast of The Hague. They’re responsible for the distinctive Delft Blue pottery style, with cobalt blue paint on white glaze.
