Imagine you’re at a sports bar that’s showing four games on different TVs — but the only audio playing is for the game you don’t care about. Or maybe you’re in a crowded airport and can’t make out your gate announcements from the many other gate and airport announcements.

These are just two of the ways Auracast can change how you interact with audio, by letting an unlimited number of headphones, speakers or hearing aids tune in to a single broadcast. All you need to do is scan a QR code or select the broadcast from a list, much like you’d choose a Wi-Fi network.

Auracast-enabled devices have been rolling out over the past couple of years, but adoption of the Bluetooth-based broadcast audio technology is finally gaining traction.
