Marketing intent disguised as thought leadership, swathes of AI slop, invented authority, and unsubstantiated claims have contributed to an almost complete erosion of trust in online blogging. And once lost, trust is one of the hardest things to regain.
I love hardcover books. I love thumbing through cream paper and highlighting paragraphs that ruin me in all the best ways. But with a full-time job, reading has become a luxury. Whenever I make time for a new book, the pressure is high. It has to be special because who knows when I’ll next be able to settle into my nook and lock in? It is like saving up for a new restaurant and spending hundreds of dollars on a special-occasion meal.
If I pick up a book I hate, one that bores me or seems shoddily thrown together, best believe I’m never buying that writer again. I don’t care how...
