Apple's Reimagined Siri Can Converse, Understand Context, and Even Control Your Devices

Apple has finally rebuilt Siri into "Siri AI," a version of its assistant that uses Apple Intelligence to run more conversational and context-aware tasks across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro. The company says Siri AI can handle follow-up questions, keep context in a single thread, and respond with richer, web-backed answers on many topics, making it functionally similar to other mainstream AI chatbots and assistants.

For the first time, Siri will have its own dedicated app that stores conversation history by syncing it across devices via iCloud. On newer iPhones, Siri appears in the Dynamic Island, and users can swipe down to switch from a quick interaction to a full chat view.

"Onscreen awareness" allows Siri to respond to what's on display, like a text thread or a document, and tap into information from apps including Messages, Mail, and Photos when users ask for it.
