Anthropic Merges Claude Chat and Cowork Into a Single Interface

Anthropic has combined Claude's mainstream chat and Cowork modes into a single interface. This means the chatbot will now offer quick answers, conduct complex, multi‑step work, and even display new productivity tools within one conversation. Claude Code will continue to operate separately, however.

The update also introduces Claude Docs and Claude Slides. The former lets users create collaborative documents that everyone can edit simultaneously, with Claude capable of writing new sections, asking developmental questions, and revising the document. These documents can be exported to Google Docs and Microsoft Word.

Claude Slides lets users request a slide deck through plain language prompts, then edit individual slides and present them directly from Claude. Slides can be downloaded as PowerPoint (PPTX) or PDF files and live within a shareable link, similar to Google Slides.
