Anbernic’s $139 Switch Lite Rival Packs Snapdragon Power
Anbernic has released the RG 55G1, an Android handheld starting at a stocking-stuffer-friendly $140 introductory price and pairing a sleek Nintendo Switch Lite-esque design with Qualcomm's G1 Gen 2 silicon.
The RG 55G1 is strictly a retro gaming (and Android-native titles) type of machine, just so we're square. Powering it all is a Snapdragon G1 Gen 2 4nm processor with an octa-core Kryo CPU pushing clock speeds up to 2.4GHz alongside an Adreno A12 GPU. So instead of driving massive high-end AAA console releases, this hardware focuses on driving efficiency and modern performance to budget emulation.
Squint and you'll swear that the RG 55G1 bears a striking resemblance to a Switch Lite, featuring a horizontal layout, a full glass front, and three distinct color options: Indigo, Black, and Retro Gray complete with classic colored face buttons.
