American Airlines Flights Resume After Being Grounded by System Outage

American Airlines says it has resumed flights on Tuesday evening after a brief grounding of its fleet of jets blamed on a “technology issue.”

The FAA’s Air Traffic Control System Command Center issued a ground stop advisory on Tuesday, preventing American Airlines’ planes from departing on flights. Flights already in the air were unaffected by the disruption.

American Airlines representatives didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment but announced in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that the outage had been resolved.
