AMD Launches Ryzen 7700X3D With Scalper-Thwarting Bundles
AMD has launched another X3D CPU, fleshing out the range with a new, lower-cost chip: the 7700X3D. This one's just under $330, so cheaper than the re-released 5800X3D, and it supports DDR5 and new motherboard standards. It's upgradable, and though you can only get it at Newegg at the time of writing, the bundles make it reasonably affordable to get a full system up and running.
The new 7700X3D is effectively a down-clocked 7800X3D. Both chips have eight cores and support up to 16 simultaneous threads, have 104MB of L3 cache, and a TDP of 120W. They are both built for socket AM5 and support DDR5 and PCIe 5. The 7800X3D can boost to 5GHz, though the 7700X3D maxes out at 4.5GHz.
