AI and policing - six months on, the UK's pioneering Bobbi agentic use case is expanding its beat

At a time when we’re all looking around for agentic AI use cases that prove the viability and ROI of the tech in practice, one of the most compelling from late last year came in the shape of Bobbi, the virtual AI policing assistant, which was being piloted at two Forces in England & Wales, Thames Valley Police and Hampshire & Isle of White Constabulary.

Arriving accompanied by the inevitable ‘Robocop’ mainstream media headlines, Bobbi is nonetheless a genuinely pioneering demonstration of agentic AI in action. Built on Salesforce Agentforce, the project began as an initiative to free up time on the part of the police currently going on mundane, routine, non-emergency requests from the public, but six months down the track, it’s clear that there are fresh ambitions for what comes next.
