The US Army is training AI agents to work alongside human forces in defined cyber roles, assigning specialized responsibilities within operational units.

According to Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER), these systems are being prepared to perform technical duties alongside personnel, while humans retain responsibility for decisions involving risk.

ARCYBER is developing and deploying these AI agents through Task Force Lexington, which oversees the command’s artificial intelligence programs.

Training AI agents for specialized cyber duties

“Every agent we create is trained in a work role inside the cyber force,” said Lt. Gen. Christopher Eubank, commander of Army Cyber Command.

The training covers positions including developers, data engineers, host analysts and exploitation analysts, with agents receiving standards comparable to human personnel.
