Zomato Tests Vending Machines As A New Food Delivery Model

The Eternal-owned food delivery platform is reportedly piloting vending machines, or food pods, at corporate offices in Gurugram. The machines, referred to as ‘Zomato Now’, are being installed in partnership with restaurants, according to the material supplied for this story.

The experiment is small for now, with the company reportedly testing a few food pods. But the model points to a broader question for food delivery platforms: how much of the next phase of growth will come from making delivery faster, and how much will come from changing where food is stocked and consumed?
