ZeffSec Resurfaces on Telegram, Claims Breach of Gozine2.ir
After months of inactivity, the hacking group known as ZeffSec has resurfaced on Telegram (@zeffsec), and within a day of returning, the group claimed responsibility for a new breach targeting the Iranian platform gozine2.ir.
The group first announced that it was abandoning its presence on X (formerly Twitter) and would now operate exclusively through Telegram. Less than 24 hours later, ZeffSec published details of what it described as a large-scale compromise of the educational platform.
In its statement, the group accused the platform of collecting personal information from students “without authorized permissions,” claiming the breach was carried out through exposed database credentials allegedly left accessible via a backup endpoint.
According to ZeffSec, the leaked database contains more than 200,000 records, including:
- Phone numbers
- Home addresses
- National identification numbers
- Full legal names
- Employee-related records
- Several gigabytes of emails and internal documents
