XO5 Labs Aims to Take the Stink Out of Using the EufyMake E1 UV Printer with Its LumiMask Enclosure
XO5 Labs founder Dominik Sieczka is aiming to make sharing a room with a EufyMake E1 ultraviolet (UV) printer a little more pleasant with a custom enclosure designed to filter out its fumes while reducing UV light leakage: the 3D-printable LumiMask.
"The EufyMake E1 is an incredible machine that opens up exciting new possibilities for makers, creators, and small businesses," Sieczka says of the device. "But after spending countless hours printing in our own workshop, we discovered one major downside: the smell. While some users may not notice it, others quickly find that the odors produced during printing can become overwhelming, especially in smaller workspaces. Even with ventilation, the smell can linger long after a print has finished. Our air quality monitors regularly detected elevated VOC [Volatile Organic Compounds] levels whenever the printer was operating with the doors open, confirming what our noses were already telling us."
