Xiaomi Tries to Steal Apple's Thunder by Launching Its Own Wide-Format Foldable
Xiaomi has officially announced the Xiaomi 18 Fold, its first wide-format foldable smartphone, at a product event in China on September 7. The launch came just two days before Apple is set to unveil its first foldable iPhone, the so-called iPhone Ultra.
The 18 Fold has a 5.38-inch outer display and a 7.58-inch inner display, making it just a tad smaller than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8. Both are 120Hz LTPO panels and offer up to 4,000 nits peak brightness. A "Dragon Bone" hinge gives the phone a rounded profile and a thickness of 5.02 millimeters when open. The device weighs 219 grams and comes in Black, Cherry Red, Warm Gold, plus a limited Ceramic Special Edition.
