X Money can cut off your account over what you post

X Money went live on Monday. Buried in its support pages is a rule that no ordinary bank applies to a current account.

“If your X account is suspended for violating Child Safety or Violent and Hateful Entities policies, you will lose Money access,” the company FAQ states. Any remaining balance “will be mailed to you via check”.

Suspensions under every other policy leave the account untouched, the same page says. X has drawn a line, and it sits inside a moderation team rather than a compliance department.

Holding the money at all requires an X account “in good standing”. The eligibility list says so plainly.

It is not quite a bank account

X markets a deposit account. Its own paperwork uses a different term.

The rate table is headed “Money Stored Value Account Rates”. The sweep bank list describes “X Money Stored Value Account program funds”. The interest rules...
