Wireless Mountain Bike Brakes Make Stopping a Subscription Service
Right before I started writing for Hackster back in 2017, I worked at a bike shop in Denver. I spent most of my time assembling new bikes, which meant a lot of routing of cables and adjusting of brakes. The job would have been much easier if bicycle brakes were wireless, like everything else in the modern world. Well, Seth of the Berm Peak YouTube channel actually made that happen and it comes with perks, like stopping as a subscription service.
The basic idea here is that instead of a cable linkage or hydraulic connection between the bike levers on the handlebars and the brake calipers on the wheels, you have a wireless system. A single lever on the handlebars is an electronic device that communicates wirelessly with electronically controlled actuators for the calipers.
