Windows 11's Low Latency Profile Is Available Now. Here's How to Use it

Microsoft's Low Latency Profile, which has been making its way through Insider Preview releases, is now available for all Windows 11 users. This neat little update helps the CPU frequency ramp up much faster when you interact with Windows features like the Start menu, as well as most applications, making them feel much more responsive.

Microsoft first debuted the Low Latency Profile in May, and though some internet denizens claimed it was "cheating" to boost performance, free performance is free performance. The swift clock-speed ramp-up is something that Android and MacOS already do, anyhow—it's nothing new. But it is new to Windows, and the results seem broadly positive.

The effect is to make native Windowselements like the Start menu, Action Center, and Search bar open almost instantaneously, rather than with a microsecond-long wait as before this update. It makes the CPU hit its top boost frequency a bit...
