A large global investment bank needed 50 consultants on a project shortly before Inspire 2026. One partner could not staff it, so they rang another – a competitor on paper, working the same customer account – and asked. The answer was yes, and the commercials would get sorted later.
The story comes from Rishi Kapoor, who manages partner sales engineering globally for Alteryx and leads a team of around 13 specialist engineers who advise both internal sales teams and external customers on partner selection. In an interview at Alteryx Inspire 2026 in Orlando, he explains, "it's all about the customer outcomes and the customer success". On paper, the two partners compete for services revenue, but on the day that had not stopped either of them picking up the phone.
