If you have a smartwatch or fitness tracker, there’s a high chance you’ve had that experience. You check your heart rate randomly and it’s a little higher than usual. Now it’s all you’re thinking about. Then you check again and again.
And then comes a point when you don’t know whether you’re using that watch for your benefit, or just becoming more neurotic about every little detail of your life. That’s kind of where we are with wearables right now. We’ve made them incredible tools for monitoring pretty much anything. Heart rate, activity level, blood oxygen saturation, sleep quality. The idea here was pretty straightforward- the more data you gather, the healthier you’ll be.
