Washington’s Crypto Bill Just Got More Complicated
A president telling a room of CEOs he is optimistic about a bill is not a legislative event. It has no docket number, no vote count, and no legal consequence. What happened on either side of that meeting does have all three.
On Wednesday, August 19, President Trump hosted crypto and traditional finance executives at the White House and called on Congress to pass what he described as a fair version of the CLARITY Act. Afterward, a smaller group was pulled into the Oval Office. The Block reported that one source familiar described the president as bullish on getting the bill done.
